Hydrocephalus, a build-up of fluid on the brain, can develop at any time in anyone’s life. Hydrocephalus can make daily life extremely challenging for many of our members.

Early intervention is critical if we are to improve outcomes for those with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and associated conditions. 

Shine provides specialist advice and information to professionals working in healthcare and education. We aim to deepen understanding of spina bifida and hydrocephalus to provide the best possible outcome for our members.

Shine’s aim is to engage, empower and enable all our members to have better lives by helping them to share with others their personal experiences of life with spina bifida. 

Demand for our services is at an all-time high as we strive to ensure our members have access to the support they need today, and in the future. Your donation would enable our Health Development Team to continue their vital preventative work and potentially save lives.  

Shine’s Support & Development Workers are key to realising the proactive approach we are taking in ensuring our members stay safe and well throughout this pandemic.

Shine is working hard to overcome the many challenges COVID-19 (coronavirus) has presented, with demand for our services at an all-time high. 

Shunts are vital in saving the lives of our members.  

Brig, Shaun, Julie, Paul and I would like to invite all Shine staff to take part in a balloon race on the 14^th April…. It would be so nice to see the entire Shine family taking part and sharing a little fun
