Hydrocephalus, a build-up of fluid on the brain, can develop at any time in anyone’s life. It can have a range of physical and cognitive effects, including issues with reasoning, short-term memory, language, visual problems and early puberty in children.

Anencephaly is the most severe of a group of conditions known as Neural Tube Defects (NTDs). It happens in about 1 in 2,000 pregnancies in the UK and occurs during the first 28 days of pregnancy. Anencephaly sadley is always fatal.
